Port Washington Fire Department
🚨 Marine Emergency Response – Manhasset Bay 🚨Just after 8:00 PM last night, the Port Washington Fire Department was alerted to a report of a boat fire with multiple victims in the water off the coast of Hart Island in Manhasset Bay.The Port Washington Fire/Rescue Boat, along with several land units, immediately responded with Marine Captain Kevin Gately, Lieutenants Emma Nadel and Kyle Calenda along with Engineer Connor Parsons. Our marine unit assisted FDNY Marine Units in extinguishing the vessel fire.Initial reports indicated that the victims would be brought to Capri Marina in Manorhaven for treatment and possible transport to local hospitals. In preparation, Chief Donald Reese requested a full EMS response, including all three Port Washington ambulances and mutual aid units from Manhasset-Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department Roslyn Rescue and Glenwood H&L, E&H, Co., Inc.Ultimately, all victims were transported to City Island for medical evaluation. We thank all responding agencies for their swift action and coordination in last night’s emergency.Atlantic Hook & Ladder Co.1Protection Engine Co.
