Department History
The PWFD has an extremely rich history dating back to 1907 as a department and 1886 for individual companies.
To commemorate the department’s 100th anniversary the “Answering the Call” website was created.
We encourage you to visit the website and learn more about the PWFD and the history of our town Port Washington.
“Answering the Call” was developed by the PWFD and the Port Washington Public Library’s Local History Center.
