PWFD Douses Dumpster Fire

At 14:41 on December 20, 2012 the Port Washington Fire Department received a General Alarm for a dumpster fire at 382 Main Street.

A fire engine from Protection Engine Company #1 arrived within minutes of the alarm. Firefighters found the fire spreading to nearby exposures along a fence and vertically up a utility pole. Being mindful of the electrical hazard firefighters quickly doused the fire.

Property damage was minimal and possible extension to an adjacent commercial building and residence was prevented. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation.
