NOTE:

Many visitors to our site have asked about the use of turnout boots vs. bunker gear in these photographs.  Many of these photos are from the early 90s, (we're working on getting some newer ones up!), and reflect the gear that we utilized at the time.  Since 1998, the PWFD has adopted a requirement of full bunker gear at all operations, and forbids the use of "turnout" boots without bunker gear.  Every firefighter is issued at least one complete set of OSHA/NFPA compliant gear including bunker pants, coat, helmet, hood, gloves, and eye protection.
